In November 2015, the Dallas Opera company will inaugurate their Institute for Women Conductors. Female conductors up to 40 years old are encouraged to apply, as are female singers, opera coaches, accompanists and instrumentalists with established careers seeking new opportunities as conductors. Six candidates will be selected for the inaugural class, which will run from Nov. 28 to Dec. 6. Those selected will take part in master classes with music director Emmanuel Villaume and principal guest conductor Nicole Paiement, attend seminars and discussions and conduct the Dallas Opera Orchestra in a concert at the Winspear Opera House.
