After the suspension of the funding by the Regional Council, the association administrating the National Orchestra and the Opera in Montpellier, France, is in a financial crisis. The musicians and the employees are concerned about their future and, considering the deficit of 700.000 Euros, they fear that their salaries could not be paid at the end of the month. The Regional Council’s money was blocked due to a pending reform of the statutes governing the association.
