The 2015 edition of the Yankelevitch International Violin Competition in Omsk has been cancelled due to funding cuts, said Vladimir Spivakov, president of the competition. « I received a letter from the governor of the Omsk region Viktor Ivanovich Nazarov referring to the decision of Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on the reduction of funds. » The competition was held every two years since 2009.
