Ziyu He, 16, from China, has been awarded First Prize at the 2016 Senior Menuhin Competition, in London. Second prize was awarded to 16 year old Song Ha Choi, from South Korea. 3rd and 4th prizes were awarded to 20 year old Yu-Ting Chen, from Taiwan and 20 year old Jeein Kim, from South Korea. Audience Award: Song Ha Choi.
The jury comprised: Chairwoman Pamela Frank, former laureates Julia Fischer, VC ‘Artist’ Ray Chen, Tasmin Little, Ning Feng and Joji Hattori – and pianist Jeremy Menuhin, violinist Dong-Suk Kang and Verbier Festival Director, Martin Engstroem.
