Riccardo Chailly will remain Music Director of La Scala in Milan until the end of 2026. The Board of Directors instructed the superintendent, Fortunato Ortombina, to verify the maestro’s willingness, enforcing the option already in the agreement with him. According to that, Chailly will open the next season with Lady Macbeth of the District of Mcensk and will stay through 2026, not just through the summer.
