Abu Dhabi’s NSO Symphony Orchestra will perform its last public concert on April 27 at the Emirates Palace Hotel Auditorium. Called A Night at the Movies… The Final Curtain, the performance conducted by music director Andrew Berryman will feature some of the most well-known orchestral music written for film.
According to the newspaper Gulf News, the NSO Symphony Orchestra performed during the past seven years at the Emirates Palace and in venues across the emirates. Yet, with a growing number new concert halls and opera houses and an international offer of events in the UAE, the NSO Symphony encountered growing difficulties to fill its concerts. The organization leaves more than 100 musicians of some 20 nationalities without a contract.
