Adelaide Symphony Orchestra has announced the appointment of British conductor Nicholas Braithwaite, 82, as Conductor Laureate, in recognition of his long service to the orchestra.
Braithwaite has worked with the Australian orchestra for over 30 years and served as Principal Conductor from 1987 to 1991, conducting a vast range of public concerts, recordings and radio broadcasting. He and his wife live in Adelaide since the end of the eighties.
