The Opéra National du Rhin in Strasbourg has appointed Alain Perroux as General Manager from the 1st of January 2020. He is the successor of Eva Kleinitz, who died in May 2019.
Born in 1971 in Geneva, Alain Perroux was initially a music journalist and lecturer. He began his career in 2001 at the Grand Théâtre de Genève (until 2009), while at the same time directing the Geneva Pocket Opera, an independent company. In addition to directing and writing, he was also a cast advisor at the Dijon Opera from 2007 to 2009 before becoming dramaturge and director of artistic administration at the Aix-en-Provence Festival.
