Alan Gilbert, designated principal conductor of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester and former music director of the New York Philharmonic, celebrates his kick-off in Hamburg with an adaption of the much-vaunted multimedia production of György Ligeti’s opera Le Grand Macabre, directed by Doug Fitch.
It premieres tonight in the Elbphilharmonie. The third performance on Monday, 13th of May, will be streamed live on NDR.de/eo as well as on elbphilharmonie.de and will be available online as video on demand. Therefore, music fans all over the world can take part in this milestone in modern music theatre.
