French Pianist Alexandre Kantorow, 22, won First Prize at this year’s Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow. He is the first Frenchman to win the competition since its creation in 1958. Alexandre Kantorow was born in Clermont-Ferrand in 1997 into a family of musicians, his father is the violinist and conductor Jean-Jacques Kantorow.
