Magdalena Brzozowska spielt ein Programm mit Ersteinspielungen von Werken des deutschen Komponisten Joseph Christoph Kessler (1800-1872). Leider tut sie das weitgehend sehr wenig inspiriert, und nur hin und wieder blitzt ein Funken von persönlichem Gestaltungswillen auf. Meistens plätschert die Musik nur banal dahin, und man kann nur erahnen, wie diese Stücke geklungen hätten, wenn die Pianistin akzentfreudiger, mit mehr Rubato und Farben, generell auch mit mehr Raffinement, Spontanität und Fantasie an die Materie herangegangen wäre.
Magdalena Brzozowska plays a program of first recordings of works by the German composer Joseph Christoph Kessler (1800-1872). Unfortunately, she does so with very little inspiration, and only occasionally does a spark of personal creative will light up. Most of the time, the music just blandly burbles along, and one can only imagine what these pieces might have sounded like if the pianist had approached the music with more accentuation, rubato and color, and generally with more refinement, spontaneity and imagination.
