Russian conductor Andrey Boreyko has been appointed Music Director of Florida’s Naples Philharmonic Orchestra. Boreyko’s five-year contract begins immediately; he assumes the title of Music Director Designate for the 2013-14 season, taking on the full role of Music Director in 2014-15. The appointment comes at the start of the orchestra’s 25th anniversary year, and at a time when its home, the multi-disciplinary Philharmonic Center for the Arts, announces an ambitious rebranding and artistic expansion – including a growing commitment to classical music – to become Artis-Naples.
Andrey Boreyko continues in his positions as Music Director of the Orchestre National de Belgique and of the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker.
