Andris Nelsons
In a personal statement on their websites, conductor Andris Nelsons and singer Kristine Opolais announced their divorce, after seven years of marriage.The statement says: « Both Mr. Nelsons and Ms. Opolais are united in putting their daughter (Adriana, 6) at the center of their private lives. With complete respect and admiration for one another, Mr. Nelsons and Ms. Opolais look forward to continuing their artistic relationship together. The family asks for privacy at this time and no further comments will be given. »
Andris Nelsons, musical director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and soprano Kristine Opolais were both born in Latvia, and married in 2011.
