Angelika Kirchschlager
The 58-year-old Austrian mezzo-soprano Angelika Kirchschlager announced in a podcast with the Zürich Opera that ‘Sweeney Todd’, currently running at this opera house, would be her last staged work.
After more than thirty years on stage, she is retiring from the stage to devote herself entirely to her professorship for song, oratorio and concert at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts.
