Perkussionist Peter Rosmanith und Marwan Abado haben zu dem zwanzigjährigen Bestehen ihres gemeinsamen musikalischen Weges, durch Corona ein wenig verspätet, mit weiteren Freunden diese Einspielung geschaffen. Den größten Einfluss hat die Musik des Nahen Ostens, da Abado aus Beirut stammt. Aber seit rund 40 Jahren in Wien lebend, hat er auch andere musikalische Einflüsse erlebt.
Nach einer früheren Reise zwischen Ost und West mit ‘Path of Love’ zwischen Bach und orientalischer Volksmusik kommt hier nun eine Sammlung, die wieder mehr auf die Heimat von Abado zielt. Longa, eine ursprünglich aus Rumänien ins Osmanische Reich gebrachte und dann weiter ins Morgenland gebracht wurde, ist eine schnelle Tanzform, die oft als Rausschmeißer im Konzert fungiert. Doch auch andere arabische Musikformen erklingen auf dem Album.
So bietet diese Sammlung auf musikalisch hohem Niveau und auch aufnahmetechnisch herausragend eingefangen eine etwas andere musikalische Ausrichtung als die meisten der hier vorgestellten Einspielungen. Genießen lässt die vom eingespielten Team mit Hingabe präsentierte Musik ausgezeichnet.
Percussionist Peter Rosmanith and Marwan Abado have created this recording with other friends to mark the twentieth anniversary of their musical journey together, somewhat belatedly due to coronavirus. The music of the Middle East has the greatest influence, as Abado comes from Beirut. But having lived in Vienna for around 40 years, he has also experienced other musical influences.
After an earlier journey between East and West with ‘Path of Love’ between Bach and oriental folk music, here is a collection that once again focuses more on Abado’s homeland. Longa, a fast dance form originally brought from Romania to the Ottoman Empire and then brought further afield to the Orient, often serves as a concert bouncer. But other Arabic music forms can also be heard on the album.
This collection thus offers a somewhat different musical orientation than most of the recordings presented here, at a high musical level and with outstanding recording quality. The music presented with dedication by the well-rehearsed team is an excellent pleasure.
