Sergei Rachmaninovs g-Moll Sonate für Cello und Klavier op. 19 profitiert auf dieser CD von einer kräftigen und leidenschaftlichen Interpretation der beiden Musiker. Aleksandr Khramouchin spielt lyrisch und ausdrucksvoll, während Eliane Reyes die klangliche fein differenzierte Basis liefert.
Danach hören wir César Francks Sonate für Violine und Klavier in der Fassung für Cello und Klavier. Aleksandr Khramouchin erweist sich als ein gestaltungsfreudiger Interpret. Zusammen mit seiner Partnerin am Klavier gelingt eine farbige und kraftvolle Gestaltung der Sonate.
Die Aufnahme ist etwas mulmig, aber die Balance ist gut.
Sergei Rachmaninov’s G minor Sonata for Cello and Piano, Op. 19, benefits on this CD from a vigorous and passionate interpretation by both musicians. Aleksandr Khramouchin plays lyrically and expressively, while Eliane Reyes provides the finely differentiated tonal base.
We then hear César Franck’s Sonata for Violin and Piano in the version for cello and piano. Aleksandr Khramouchin proves to be an imaginative performer. Together with his partner at the piano, he succeeds in creating a colorful and powerful interpretation of the sonata.
The recorded sound is a bit muffled, but the balance is good.
