Russian Baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky suffers from a brain tumour. On his Facebook page, the following statement was published: « It is with great regret that Dmitri must cancel all performances from now until the end of August. He has recently been suffering from serious health issues, and a brain tumour has just been diagnosed. Although his voice and vocal condition are normal, his sense of balance has been severely affected. Dmitri will begin treatment this week and remains very optimistic for the future. » We wish him good luck for full recovery!
Hvorostovsky was born in Siberia in 1962. He started a great international career in 1989 when he won the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition. He has since sung at every major opera house.
