Das Duo Tartini besteht aus dem Violinisten David Plantier und der  Cellistin Annabelle Luis. Beide Musiker spielen in dieser Aufnahme eine Sonate ihres Namensgebers Giuseppe Tartini und darüber hinaus Kompositionen von weniger bekannten Barockmeistern wie etwa Francesco Antonio Bonporti oder Pierre Lahoussaye.

Das facettenreiche Repertoire dieser CD unterstreicht die unheimliche Dynamik der damaligen Musikszene und ihre stilistische Vielfalt. Gerade damit spielt das Duo Tartini seine interpretatorischen Stärken aus.

In den über 70 Minuten kommen zu keinem Moment Langatmigkeit oder gar Langeweile auf. David Plantier und  Annabelle Luis nutzen den Freiraum, den die Komponisten den Musikern gelassen haben, spielen anregend rhetorisch und mit improvisatorischem Esprit. Es ist eine Musik, die lebt, pulsiert und geradezu erfrischend wirkt, gespielt von zwei Interpreten, die sich auf die Kunst des musikalischen Dialogs verstehen.

The Duo Tartini consists of violinist David Plantier and cellist Annabelle Luis. In this recording, both musicians play a sonata by Giuseppe Tartini, who lent his name to their Duo, and compositions by lesser known baroque masters such as Francesco Antonio Bonporti or Pierre Lahoussaye.
The multifaceted repertoire underlines the dynamics of the baroque music scene and its stylistic diversity. That allows the Duo Tartini to use their musical strength. In their 70 minutes-long programme, there is never a moment of lengthiness or even boredom. David Plantier and Annabelle Luis make use of the freedom that the composers have left the musicians, playing in a stimulatingly rhetorical way and with improvisational esprit. They excel in the art of musical dialogue, and their lively and pulsating performances have an almost refreshing effect.
