Es ist, als hätte ein Maler eine bunte Szene mit einer Schäferin auf die Leinwand gebracht: frische Farben, eine idyllische Landschaft. Genauso bildhaft hat Antonio Vivaldi sein Concerto La pastorella komponiert, und genau diese Bilder entstehen im Kopf, wenn man dem Ensemble Les Paladins zuhört: ein munterer und tänzerischer Dialog in prachtvollen Klangfarben zwischen sieben Musikern.
Les Paladins – ein Ensemble mit wechselnder Besetzung – hat sich für diese Aufnahme am Modell des Orchesters am Hof in Mantua inspiriert, wo Vivaldi sich 1718 aufhielt, vor allem um einige Opernproduktionen vorzubereiten.
Es blieb offensichtlich noch genügend Zeit, Instrumentalwerke für das solistisch exzellent besetzte Orchester zu schreiben. So entstand eine schöne Sammlung von barocker Kammermusik, die Les Paladins denn auch ganz in kammermusikalischem Esprit interpretieren.
Die sehr direkte Aufnahme – Live-Mitschnitte – gibt den Interpretationen zusätzlich Relief, als säße man in einem 3D-Film, mitten im Geschehen. Man fühlt sich quasi als Mitglied des Orchesters, erlebt und spürt jede Klangfarbe, jede dynamische Nuance, jede Feinheit im Bogenstrich, in der Artikulation. Das Resultat sind vitale, spannende und erfrischende Interpretationen der Vivaldi-Concerti.

Antonio Vivaldi composed his Concerto La pastorella just as pictorially, and exactly these images arise in the mind when listening to the ensemble Les Paladins: a lively and dance-like dialogue in splendid sound colors between seven musicians.
Les Paladins – an ensemble with a changing line-up – drew inspiration for this recording from the model of the orchestra at the court in Mantua, where Vivaldi stayed in 1718, mainly to prepare some opera productions.
There was obviously enough time to write instrumental works for the orchestra, which had excellent soloists. This resulted in a beautiful collection of baroque chamber music, which Les Paladins then interpret entirely with chamber music esprit.
The very direct recording – live recordings – gives the interpretations additional relief, as if one were sitting in a 3D movie, right in the middle of the action. One feels as if one were a member of the orchestra, experiencing and feeling every timbre, every dynamic nuance, every subtlety in bowing, in articulation. The results are vital, exciting and refreshing interpretations of the Vivaldi Concerti.
