Das auf die Aufführung von Musik aus dem 17. und 18. Jahrhundert spezialisierte Ensemble El Gran Teatro del Mundo hat Musik aus Opern von Jean-Baptiste Lully, Marc-Antoine Charpentier, Henri Desmarets, André Campra & Marin Marais für kleines Instrumentalensemble bearbeitet und 27 Stücke in fünf ‘Träumen’ mit einem Epilog zusammengestellt.
So kam ein sehr schönes Repertoire zustande, eine üppige und abwechslungsreiche Kompilation großer Hits des französischen Barocks mit durchweg klangschön, hingebungsvoll gestaltenden Musikern.
Die ausgewogene, immer weise und maßvolle Darbietung, die in den Passagen barocken Pomps ebenso glänzt wie in den entrückt dahin schmelzenden kontemplativen Momenten bringt dem Ohr pures Glück.
Specialising in the performance of music from the 17th and 18th centuries, El Gran Teatro del Mundo has edited music from operas by Jean-Baptiste Lully, Marc-Antoine Charpentier, Henri Desmarets, André Campra & Marin Marais for a small instrumental ensemble and compiled 27 pieces in five ‘Dreams’ with an epilogue.
This resulted in a very beautiful repertoire, a sumptuous and varied compilation of great hits of the French Baroque with consistently beautiful, committed musicians.
The balanced, always wise and moderate performance, which shines in the passages of baroque pomp as well as in the introverted contemplative moments, brings pure happiness to the ear.
