Sakari Oramo

The BBC Symphony Orchestra has renewed the contract of Chief Conductor Sakari Oramo by five more years, until 2030. He has been in this position since 2013.
Oramo, 58, is Conductor Laureate of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Honorary Conductor of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Professor of Orchestra Education and Conducting Studies,, Arts Helsinki, Sibelius Academy and Artistic Director of the Sibelius Academy Symphony Orchestra.
