Riccardo Muti
On 7 May 2015, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Music Director Riccardo Muti, will offer a free, on-demand video stream of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. The music will be available from 11 a.m. Central American time for viewers worldwide at www.cso.org/Beethoven9, where currently two video trailers as well as the downloads of the programs notes are made accessible.
The performance, recorded at Orchestra Hall in Chicago on 18 September 2014, features Riccardo Muti and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Chorus, prepared by Chorus Director Duain Wolfe, and vocal soloists soprano Camilla Nylund, mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Gubanova, tenor Matthew Polenzani, and bass-baritone Eric Owens.
