Belgian composer, pianist and conductor François Glorieux died on September 23 at the age of 91. He gave almost 6,000 recitals and concerts in some sixty countries. He composed over 300 musical works. His discography includes some fifty CDs and LPs.
In 1990, he was appointed permanent conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra (London) and the Mainzer Kammerochester (Germany).He was honorary professor of chamber music at the Royal Music Conservatory of Ghent and guest professor at Yale University (USA).
