In a news release, the Leonard Bernstein Office has pointed out that Leonard Bernstein’s parents, Jennie Resnick and Samuel Bernstein, were born and raised in the Rivne region of the Ukraine.
They fled to the US during the Russian pogroms. « We encourage our fans and friends to make a difference by donating whatever they can to humanitarian organizations. »
