Moscow’s International House of Music and the Svetlanov Hall have been evacuated yesterday evening following a bomb threat. According to TASS, the House of Music received a message about the threat and asked the visitors as well as the musicians of the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra to leave the building.
The subsequently cancelled concert was to include the Moscow premiere of Alexei Kurbatov’s Symphonic Fantasy. Specialists of the emergency services did not find any explosive device.
The International House of Music was officially opened in 2003 and was initiated by Vladimir Spivakov. It is situated on the Kosmodamianskaya Embankment off the Garden Ring Road.
