Diese CD ist dem Thema Bühnenmusik gewidmet. Gabriel Fauré hinterließ mehrere Werke dieser Gattung.
Takénori Nemoto und das Ensemble Musica haben die Bühnenmusik Shylock in der von Némoto selbst rekonstruierten Originalversion für Kammerorchester, sowie Pelléas et Mélisande in der Originalfassung für Kammerochester (Orchestration von Charles Kœchlin) aufgenommen. Daneben ist auch Le voile du bonheur zu hören, eine Bühnenmusik, die Georges Clémenceau für sein gleichnamiges Theaterstück bestellt hatte.
Diese Stücke allein lassen diese CD attraktiv werden, und wenn Musica Nigella auch oft sensuell und vor allem sehr farbig spielt, kommen die Aufnahmen nicht an die Qualität der Morlot-CD aus Seattle heran. Aber wie gesagt, es gibt hier Ersteinspielungen, die durchaus für sich einnehmen.

Takénori Nemoto and the Ensemble Musica have recorded the incidental music Shylock in the original version for chamber orchestra reconstructed by Némoto himself, as well as Pelléas et Mélisande in the original version for chamber orchestra (orchestration by Charles Kœchlin). Also heard is Le voile du bonheur, incidental music commissioned by Georges Clémenceau for his play of the same name.
These pieces alone make this CD attractive, and though Musica Nigella’s playing is often sensitive and, above all, very colorful, the recordings do not reach the quality of the Morlot CD from Seattle. But as I said, there are premiere recordings here that definitely stand up for themselves.
