Canadian soprano Erin Wall has passed away on October 8, aged 44. She lost a yearlong battle against cancer. Born in Canada to American parents, Wall studied at the Vancouver Academy of Music, Western Washington University, Rice University and Music Academy of the Westand and was a finalist at the Cardiff Singer of the World competition in Wales in 2003.
In July 2002 she made her international debut in London with a performance in the War Requiem of Benjamin Britten. She sang at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, at the Washington National Opera, at the Mostly Mozart Festival and at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, in Paris, Aix-en-Provence and Vienna.
