Swiss conductor Baldur Brönnimann (45) has been appointed as the new Principal Conductor of Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música and Leopold Hager (78) is the new Principal Guest Conductor. Brönnimann and Hager will both start in January 2015, in succession to Christoph König, who concludes his extended term as Principal Conductor at the end of 2014, after more than six years. Baldur Brönnimann has earned a reputation as a conductor of contemporary scores. Leopold Hager is renowned for his leadership of Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra and later the Luxembourg Philharmonic.
