Der Thomanerchor Leipzig wird im Rahmen der Eröffnung des Bachfestes Leipzig 2023 am 8. Juni mit der Bach-Medaille der Stadt Leipzig geehrt. Die Bach-Medaille ist die höchste Auszeichnung, die die Stadt Leipzig auf dem Gebiet der Musik vergibt. Der Thomanerchor hat eine über 800-jährige Tradition und wurde von 1723 bis 1750 von Johann Sebastian Bach geleitet. From April 14 to 22, the Academy Les Chants d’Ulysse, an academy co-founded by Patricia Petibon and Héloïse Gaillard, in partnership with the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud, the Saumur Val de Loire Agglomeration and the Dôme theater, will take place. The 40-year-old British conductor Robin Ticciati will leave his post as chief conductor of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin in summer 2025. He has been in the post since 2017. He is Music Director of the Glyndebourne Festival Opera.
