33-year-old German conductor Christian Reif has been appointed Chief Conductor of Gävle Symphony Orchestra, beginning in the 2023/24 season. In July 2019, Reif completed a three-year post as Resident Conductor of the San Francisco Symphony and Music Director of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra.

18-year-old pianist Roman Fediurko, a scholarship holder at the International Music Academy in Lichtenstein, has won First Prize and and five of the six Special Prizes at the International Horowitz Competition in Geneva, the Vere Music Fund for the best Ukrainian Artist, WFIMC Prize awarded for the best performance of a work written by a Ukrainian composer, the Audience Prize, the Prix Fondation Thiébaud-Frey and the Chopin Prize of the Fryderyk Chopin Society of Geneva.
