The Internet platform www.meritaplatform.eu has announced the call for the quartets that will be part of the three-year project MERITA – where chamber Music, cultural hERItage and TAlent meet. This is a digital and real circuiting platform whose main objective is to increase the visibility and circulation of emerging professional European string quartets. The development of the project will last 3 years and will involve 38 quartets with a total of 152 artists.

Wie erwartet hat die Berliner Staatsoper das Konzert, das Daniel Barenboim am Tag seines 80. Geburtstages am 15. November gemeinsam mit Zubin Mehta und der Staatskapelle Berlin geben wollte, abgesagt. Die Staatsoper schreibt: « Wir hoffen, das Konzert zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt nachholen zu können. » Der Dirigent leidet an einer schweren Nervenkrankheit. Read More →
A senior official at the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra has admitted in court that he sexually harassed a young female orchestra musician over a span of more than three years. The court declared the 31-year-old man guilty and sentenced him to one year in prison, suspended for four years. A five-year restraining order in favor of the victim was also imposed. Sadly the victim has resigned from the Orchestra to avoid further contact with the man.
