The Italian tenor Daniele Barioni, an internationally renowned opera singer between the 1950s and 1970s, has died at the age of 92 during the night from Saturday to Sunday, Nov. 6. Daniele Barioni began studying singing in 1949 in Milan with Attilio Bordonali, his first studies were in the baritone repertoire. He made his singing debut that same year at Circolo Italia, Milan, in a concert with soprano Claudia Parada. The Finnish conductor Hannu Lintu, 55, will become Chief Conductor of the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lissabon from the 2023-2024 season. Currently Chief Conductor of the Finnish National Opera and Ballet, Hannu Lintu has been a regular performer at Gulbenkian Music in recent years, conducting around twenty concerts by the Gulbenkian Orchestra to both public and critical acclaim.

The program has been designed by Zubin Mehta, who at the last minute has taken leave for health reasons.
