The supervisory board of HamburgMusik has extended Christoph Lieben-Seutter’s contract as General and Artistic Director of the Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle, which was to run until mid-2024, by five years until 2029. Am gestrigen Donnerstag fand zunächst im Kammermusiksaal der Philharmonie Luxembourg die von den International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) veranstaltete Award Ceremony statt; am Abend folgte das ICMA Gala Konzert im Grand Auditorium des Hauses. The Taipei Symphony Orchestra (TSO) announced it had extended the contract of Chief Conductor Eliahu Inbal for another three years to 2025. The 86-year-old Israel-born Inbal is in this position since August 2019.

Der rumänische Pianist Radu Lupu ist am Ostersonntag im Alter von 76 Jahren in Lausanne gestorben. Er studierte u.a bei Heinrich Neuhaus und galt als einer der größten lebenden Pianisten, hatte sich aber schon vor drei Jahren aus gesundheitlichen Gründen vom Konzertleben zurückgezogen. Read More →
