Der deutsche Cellist Wolfgang Boettcher ist im Alter von 86 Jahren in Berlin gestorben. Bis 1976 war er zweiter Solo-Cellist der Berliner Philharmoniker. Ab 1976 übernahm er eine Professur an der Hochschule der Künste Berlin, der heutigen Universität der Künste Berlin. Er gehörte zu den Gründungsmitgliedern des Ensembles Die 12 Cellisten sowie des Brandis-Quartetts.

The Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM) has announced that Kent Nagano receives the honorary title of Conductor Emeritus of the Orchestra. Appointed by the Board of Directors, he becomes the third Music Director of the OSM to receive this recognition after Wilfrid Pelletier and Zubin Mehta. He was the orchestra’s Music Directors until summer 2020. His successor is Rafael Payare.
