Die Sonderausstellung zum 300. Geburtstag von Leopold Mozart in Salzburg feierte einen Besucherrekord. Rund 180.000 Besucher aus aller Welt lockte die Sonderschau ‘Leopold Mozart. Musiker – Manager -Mensch’ vom 5. April 2019 bis 9. Februar 2020 ins Mozart-Wohnhaus. Die Ausstellung im Mozart-Wohnhaus, in dem die Familie ab 1773 wohnte und wo Leopold Mozart am 28. Mai 1787 starb, präsentierte eine thematisch gegliederte Schau, die eine Fülle von originalen Dokumenten zu Leopold Mozart enthielt.

Die drei Komponisten-Förderpreise der Ernst-von-Siemens-Musikstiftung gehen in diesem Jahr an den Franzosen Samir Amarouch, die in Berlin lebende Amerikanerin Catherine Lamb sowie an die Italienerin Francesca Verunelli. Die Auszeichnung ist mit je 35.000 Euro dotiert, wie die Schweizer Stiftung in München mitteilte.
