The International Queen Elisabeth Grand Prize – Queen Mathilde Prize receives EUR 25.000 and numerous concerts in Belgium and abroad. Norwegian-born Tabita Berglund, 35, will become Principal Guest Conductor of the Dresden Philharmonic from the 2025/26 season. Tabita Berglund will succeed Kahchun Wong, who will hold the position of Principal Guest Conductor for the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 seasons. Im Konflikt zwischen dem Intendanten des Kasseler Staatstheaters, Florian Lutz, dem Orchester und dem Generalmusikdirektor Francesco Angelico wurde eine pragmatische Lösung gefunden. Der 47-jährige Italiener wird sich ab sofort als Chefdirigent ausschließlich auf den konzertanten Bereich konzentrieren. Das gab der hessische Kulturminister Timon Gremmels am Mittwoch bekannt. Angelico lässt einen Vertrag im Sommer 2025 nach dann acht Jahren auslaufen.
