British violinist Stephen Morris was handed over his 310-year-old violin worth 290,000 euros that he forgot on a train in London on 22 October. After his public request to return the instrument, a man contacted him via Twitter and agreed to return the instrument to his owner in a super market car park.

After a fall in Rio de Janeiro, 75-year-old pianist Nelson Freire broke his right arm and underwent surgery at the Copa D’Or Hospital, in Copacabana, where he remains hospitalized at least until Monday, Brauzilan media say. Several of the pianist’s concerts have been cancelled, and he is expected to recover in two months.

Online application for the next Queen Elisabeth Piano Competition is open, the organizer says in a press release, with the application deadline being fixed on Wednesday 4 December 2019. The first round will begin on 4 May 2020, the finals will take place from 25 to 30 May. Here are the rules. The organizer also says that its next competitions will be for cello in 2021, for voice in 2022, for violin in 2023 and again for piano in 2024.

British violinist Stephen Morris inadvertently left his 310-year-old violin, a David Tecchler from 1709, on a train. According to British media he was on the London to Orpington service on the 22nd of October, got out at Penge East with his bike, but forgot his violin worth almost € 300.000. He had been playing with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The train company and the police are searching for the violin since a week now. Morris is the last one of a long list of musicians who forgot their instruments on a train or a bus.
