Arie Lipsky
Israeli-American Arie Lipsky (*1955) has stepped down as Music Director of the Ashland Symphony Orchestra in Ashland (Ohio). He led the orchestra for nearly 25 years. The conductor had already resigned as Music Director of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra in June, where he served for 19 seasons. Both resignations are linked to difficult health struggles.

This fall, the Yale Symphony Orchestra will begin a new era as 70-year-old English conductor William Boughton assumes the role of Music Director and Associate Professor, adjunct, of Music. Boughton, who served as interim conductor for the 2018-2019 academic year, was enthusiastically recommended by the search committee and YSO members from a field of over 100 applicants.
