The Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra which gave its first performance in September 1919, marks its centenary year with a landmark season at home and a major European tour under the direction of Chief Conductor, Vasily Petrenko. The eight-concert tour opens on Sunday 13 October at Cologne’s Philharmonie and unfolds over the following fortnight with visits to, among other leading venues, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw (14 October), the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg (15 October), the Vienna Konzerthaus (16 October) and Turin’s Centro Congressi (20 October). On Sunday, 19 May, at 22:06, Swiss Radio SRF 2 Kultur broadcasts this year’s Gala Concert of the International Classical Music Awards. The concert was hosted by the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Lawrence Foster and presented several of the 2019 winners of ICMA. The concert is available for listening during seven days after the broadcast date.

Georg Fritzsch wird im Herbst 2020 Generalmusikdirektor in Karlsruhe. Sein Vertrag läuft über zunächst vier Jahre. Fritzsch ist der Nachfolger von Justin Brown. Fritzsch ist noch bis Ende dieser Spielzeit Generalmusikdirektor der Landeshauptstadt Kiel. Er war 16 Jahre lang auf diesem Posten.

Kalia currently serves as Music Director of the Orchestra Santa Monica, Associate Conductor of the Pacific Symphony, Music Director of the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra and Co-founder & Music Director of the Lake George Music Festival.
