Der Internationale ‘a cappella’-Wettbewerb Leipzig hat den Gewinner der Ausgabe 2019 bekanntgegeben. Es ist das vierköpfige Ensemble German Gents aus Berlin. Die vier jungen Männer mit einem Durchschnittsalter von knapp 20 Jahren überzeugten die Jury mit ihrem ausgeprägten Klang und beeindruckender musikalischer Versiertheit. Der 2. Russian soprano Albina Shagimuratova will take part in the Award Ceremony of the International Classical Music Awards in Lucerne next Friday, 10 May. During the Gala Concert with the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester she will sing Bel raggio lusinghier from Gioacchino Rossini’s Semiramide. In the new recording of this opera, released by Opera Rara, Shagimuratova sings the title role. The production has received an ICMA award in the category Opera. The Russian soprano spoke about it with Nikolai Rybinsky, opera reviewer of Radio Orpheus. Pizzicato publishes the English version of the interview.
The Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, orchestra-in-residence of the KKL Luzern, is hosting this year’s ICMA Gala and Award Ceremony on May 10, at the KKL. As Switzerland’s oldest symphony orchestra, it has gained an international standing and is perceived as one of the leading Swiss orchestras. Strongly anchored in Lucerne, a city with a worldwide reputation for music, the orchestra offers a number of concert cycles and organises the Zaubersee Festival of Russian chamber music in Lucerne.
