At this year’s ICMA Award ceremony on May 10 in Lucerne, three musicians will musically enrich the event. Zofia Neugebauer and Andrea Cellacchi will perform the Sonatine for Flute and Bassoon by French composer Pierre Gabaye (1930-2000). It was announced that Olga Gorogetsu, Deputy Prime Minister since May 2012, has been appointed chairman of the organizing committee, along with Valery Gergiev, himself a Putin-man. Die Nestlé-Tochterfirma Nespresso steigt beim Verbier-Musikfestival aus. Das bestätigte eine Nespresso-Sprecherin gegenüber der ‘Handelszeitung’. 250.000 CHF jährliche Sponsorengelder fallen damit weg. Nestlé hatte zuvor bereits angekündigt, sein Sponsoring der Salzburger Festspiele massiv zu reduzieren. Die neue Führung des Konzerns will künftig eher auf Breite und Jugend setzen.

Der deutsche Kulturmanager Stephan Pauly (*1972) könnte als Intendant von der Alten Oper Frankfurt zum Wiener Musikverein wechseln, um dort Thomas Angyan zu ersetzen, dessen Vertrag 2020 ausläuft, meldete der ORF. Der Musikverein hat entsprechende Verhandlungen bestätigt. Pauly leitet die Alte Oper seit 2012, sein derzeitiger Vertrag läuft bis 2022.
