Italian conductor Daniele Gatti is the new musical director of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. The contract is starting ad hoc and runs for three years, until 31 December 2021, the press release says. The decision to hire Gatti was taken by superintendent Carlo Fuortes together with the mayor of Rome, Virginia Raggi, who is the president of Fondazione Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.
