French harpsichordist Blandine Verlet died at the age of 76, her label Aparté announced yesterday. Born in 1942 in Paris, Blandine Verlet studied harpsichord with Marcelle de Lacour. At 21, she graduated from the National Conservatory of Music in Paris. She continued her studies at the Academy of Siena and then at Yale University, with Ralph Kirkpatrick. She started a concert career, recorded a lot and taught in various places.
