During an auction of manuscripts from the Aristophil collection at Drouot in Paris, the original score of Henri Dutilleux’s Métaboles has been acquired by the National Library of France (BNF) for a price of 143,000 euros, a press release says. Christoph Eschenbach wird neuer Chefdirigent des Konzerthausorchesters Berlin. Nachdem das bereits im November letzten Jahres bekannt gemacht worden war, hat der 78-jährige Dirigent am gestrigen Mittwoch seinen Vertrag unterzeichnet. Als Nachfolger des bisherigen Chefdirigenten Ivan Fischer wird er  die Position für zunächst drei Jahre ab der Spielzeit 2019/20 innehaben. Mit ihm will das Konzerthaus im Jahr 2021 seinen 200. Die Kostenspirale bei der Sanierung der Beethovenhalle dreht sich weiter. Die aktuelle Kostenberechnung belaufe sich auf rund 84 Millionen Euro, teilte die Stadt mit. Im Februar hatte man noch rund 79 Millionen Euro veranschlagt. At a signing ceremony today at the Bavarian Ministry of Arts in Munich, Jakub Hrusa signed a new contract as Chief Conductor of Bamberg Symphony for a further five years through 2026. Hrusa took the position in 2016. He is also Principal Guest Conductor of the Philharmonia Orchestra in London and Permanent Guest Conductor of the Czech Philharmonic (becoming Principal Guest Conductor from 2018/19).
