Robert Spano, 56, has announced plans to conclude his tenure as music director of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in June 2021. The 2020-21 season will mark his 20th year with the orchestra, making him one of the longest-tenured music directors of a major American orchestra. Jean-Luc Choplin, the former General Manager of the Châtelet in Paris and more recently of La Seine Musicale, could be the next General Manager of Théâtre Marigny, the newspaper Les Echos reports. Laurent Petitgirard

According to a news release of the Académie des Beaux-Arts, Laurent Petitgirard, its Lifetime Secretary, will end his contract as Music Director of the Paris based Orchestre Colonne this year already. The contract was signed for two more years, until 2020. Petitgirard who is at the helm of this French orchestra since 2004, wants to devote himself to composition and guest conducting.

Auditorio Príncipe Felipe', Oviedo

Not officially confirmed news that the upcoming renovation of the Auditorium of Oviedo could lead to the complete closure of the building are worrying the concert organizers of the Spanish city. They believe their annual series could be heavily be affected. The building hosts some of the most important musical cycles of the city, including the season of the Symphony Orchestra of the Principality of Asturias. Possible alternatives in other spaces have not yet been presented.
