French contemporary music institute IRCAM and the society of Authors, Composers and Publishers of Music SACEM are working on an algorithm that will be able to recognize a piece of music, whatever its version or its instrumentation look like, French magazine Sciences et Avenir reported. The aim is to recognize any use of published tunes and to apply the author’s rights.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem has being staged in the form of a ballet at Wroclaw Opera emphasising themes of death and resurrection. The three performances from 13 to 15 April performance feature the ballet ensemble of the Wroclaw Opera, with choreography by Jacek Tyski. The dancers and choir are accompanied by the Wroclaw Opera Orchestra under the baton of Marcin Nalęcz-Niesiolowski.

Nachdem der russische Pianist Daniil Trifonov den Herbert von Karajan-Preis 2017 erhielt, kündigte die Leitung der Osterfestspiele schon die Preisträgerin des mit 50.000 Euro dotierten Awards für 2018 an. Der Preis geht dann an die argentinische Cellistin Sol Gabetta.
