Chilean soprano Cristina Gallardo-Domas announced the end of her collaboration as an advisor of the Frutillar Musical Weeks (Semanas Musicales de Frutillar). Gallardo-Domas was working on a very special program for the 50th anniversary of the event, in 2018, yet didn’t find the approval of her colleagues. The soprano said that the resignation was due to differences of opinion with the organization.

Beim diesjährigen Richard-Strauss-Gesangswettbewerb hat die 27-jährige Sopranistin Anna Voshege den Ersten Preis gewonnen. Förderpreise erhielten die Sopranistinnen Alexandra Flood und Julia Moorman sowie der Tenor Tae Hwan Yun. Dieses Jahr waren 78 Bewerbungen eingegangen, aus denen 16 Kandidaten für das Vorsingen ausgewählt wurden. Die Jury setzte sich aus Gundula Janowitz, Georg Fritzsch und Brigitte Fassbaender zusammen.
