Die Luxemburger Altistin Katrin Lena Heles ist ab heute zusammen mit dem Münchener Bach-Chor und der Berliner Camerata für zwei Wochen auf Tournee in der Schweiz und in Frankreich. Auf dem Programm steht Georg Friedrich Händels Oratorium ‘Messiah’. Die Tournee beginnt mit einem Konzert in Genf, es folgen dann Veranstaltungen in Nice, Aix-en-Provence, Albi, Perpignan, Carcassonne, Montpellier und Toulouse. Der Dirigent ist Hansjörg Albrecht.
While checking the use of the funding offered by the Government of the Russian Federation for the Tchaikovsky Competition 2015, the Court of Auditors in Moscow found financial violations totalling 88.5 million rubles (€ 1,3 mio). The report also speaks about corruption risks during the selection as well as about a general lack of transparency in financial operations. It is likely that the Competition, whose chairman is Valery Gergiev, will have to return money to the State.

Korean violinist Kwon Hyuk Joo, 31, died inside a taxi yesterday in Busan, Korea. The taxi had taken him back to his hotel after a party with friends. Kwon Hyuk Joo won First Prize at the Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition 2004, the first Korean to do so. He was the youngest professor at Anyang University when he started teaching in 2012. He went to Busan to rehearse for an upcoming performance.
