At the ancient Theater of Orange, conductor Bertrand de Billy and one clarinetist of the Orchestre National de France were slightly injured by stone throwing while rehearsing Verdi’s Il Trovatore. As the French press reports, the chef was hit at the shoulder by a stone as big as an orange while the clarinetist was hit at the hip. Fortunately the injuries were not serious and did not prevent the artists to continue the rehearsal. Three children were arrested by the police on the heights of the ancient theater.

Der deutsche Tenor Jonas Kaufmann, der von Decca zu Sony Classical gewechselt ist, schreibt auf seiner Facebook-Seite, die Leute sollten sich vom Titel der Decca-CD ‘Jonas Kaufmann – The Age of Puccini’ nicht täuschen lassen. Die Kompilation enthalte lediglich drei Puccini-Titel, ‘Che gelida manina’ und ‘E lucevan le stelle’ aus dem Jahr 2007 sowie eine Szene aus ‘La Rondine’, die er 2008 mit Renée Fleming aufgenommen habe. Bei den übrigen 18 Titeln handle es sich um sein Album ‘Verismo Arias’ von 2010. Die sogenannte Puccini-CD sei ohne sein Wissen und ohne seine Zustimmung erstellt worden. Eine richtige Puccini-CD will Kaufmann im Herbst bei Sony herausbringen.
