Cathy Krier

The Jury deciding upon a grant for a concert tour by a young Luxembourgish musician has given this financial aid to the pianist Cathy Krier, who currently plans the organization of a concert tour in Japan in 2015/16. Born in Luxembourg in 1985, Cathy Krier began taking piano lessons at the Luxembourg Conservatoire at the age of five. In 1999 she was admitted to Pavel Gililov’s masterclass at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne. She has performed internationally and recorded several CDs. Read More →

Der Preisträger des 7. Internationalen Dirigentenwettbewerb Sir Georg Solti, Tung-Chieh Chuang, hat jetzt kurz nach diesem Sieg auch den 6. Dirigierwettbewerb der Mitteldeutschen Musikhochschulen gewonnen, der vom MDR Sinfonieorchester in Leipzig ausgerichtet wurde.

Die Frankfurter Musikschule bedauert, dass trotz verbesserter finanzieller Bedingungen, eine verbindliche Zusage für den geplanten Neubau der Hochschule seitens der Politik ausbleibt. Es ist dies die Nachfolgeorganisation des Wettbewerbs, der bisher im ukrainischen Charkow abgehalten wurde, wo der ukrainische Pianist Vladimir Krainev (1944- 2011) ihn 1992 gegründet hatte.
